This wonderful 19th century astrolabe has 5 rings around a globe.
On the outermost ring are the astrological signs, the second ring bears the names of celestial bodies, on the middle ring the names of the months are written in Arabic. The ring after that has several repeating patterns and the inner most ring has the Arabic letters on it. The celestial globe at the center is engraved with ecliptic and equatorial rings, the constellations are depicted by various beasts and figures and some objects, some with text.
The Astrolabe has a diameter of 42 cm and is dated 1882 / 1883 AD at the top and is in very good condition.
