This is a 18th to early 19th century a gold-plated (tombak) jug from the era of Sultan Mehmed Reşad. Tombak was mainly used by the wealthy, aristocratic class for food utensils.
Gold-plated (tombak) works are rare, because the gold plating technique was highly toxic. Working with arsenic and mercury meant the artist would seldom live longer than 10 years. The plating masters were therefore mostly selected from Ottoman prison.
Period 18th/19th century.
